Great Yarmouth’s newest radio station Harbour Radio broadcasts from the 13th Jan 2014 for 28 days.
It’s been an exciting few weeks working with the Harbour Radio team to prepare a social media strategy. Vick’s been busy helping the DJs to get the most from Twitter and Facebook.
Capturing the Harbour Radio set up activities
Even the activities taking place in the lead up to launch have been photographed for use on the social media accounts. Followers enjoy being part of the build up and like to see behind the scenes.
Planning and scheduling social media posts and interactions
There’s lots to consider including making sure that details of Harbour Radio’s upcoming shows are posted across the two social media accounts. The studio team need to interact with listeners during all show as they request music and take part in phone-ins or questions posed by DJs.
When there’s a big news story impacting people in the Great Yarmouth area, updates from listeners need to be checked and shared along with information from local experts.
Gathering support via Twitter and Facebook for Harbour Radio
Facebook and Twitter have been crucial in gathering support and sponsorship too. The Harbour Radio team have been blown away by how quickly followers and local businesses respond to requests for help through social media sites.
We’re supporting the Mid Morning show with our friend and DJ Bigg Nevv. He gets to the heart of local issues asking local experts the questions we need answers to. Anne Edwards from the Great Yarmouth Mercury is a regular on Nevv’s show.
We wish the whole team a fabulous month on air!
